Jill Kaeding

Cellist, Jill Kaeding is known for her versatility in all mediums of music. For seventeen years, she played with “Corky Siegel’s Chamber Blues”, a blend of blues harmonica, piano, string quartet and world percussion, touring throughout North America and Europe, including performances at the Montreal Jazz Festival and the Chautauqua Institution, New York.

Jill is a member of the chamber groups the Kithara Trio (flute, cello and harp), the Trio Élan (flute, violin and cello), and the HAWK String Quartet. The HAWK has joined forces with Jim Gailloreto, saxophonist/composer, (and Jill’s husband), to form Jazz String Quintet. JSQ has recently been awarded a composition/performance grant from Chamber Music America and recorded their second CD, American Complex, on Origin Records.

Jill has also performed with many national artists including: Ray Charles, Lyle Lovett, Garth Brooks, Poi Dog Pondering, Bonnie Kolac, Kurt Elling, Patricia Barber, Faith Hill and on the Oprah Winfrey Show. As an orchestral musician, she has performed with a number of local orchestras and musical theater productions and has recently enjoyed performing early music on baroque cello. Jill has a Bachelors of Music from DePaul University and is adjunct faculty at Columbia College.
